WICS Fall Quarter Week 5: Facebook Coding Event
On Monday, October 28th, representatives from Facebook came to give a presentation on various internship and job opportunities for university students. Recruiter Roby introduced Facebook University, a program designed for 1st and 2nd year students which teaches iOS development. He also explained Facebook’s Bootcamp program, in which participants can pick and choose which teams and projects that they would like to work on. He also provided resume tips and tricks, as well as how to get an interview. He expressed a lot of passion for his job as a recruiter, encouraging attendees to reach out to him for help. The second part of the event was led by two UCI alumni. They went over how to tackle a Facebook coding interview, as well as gave examples and practice problems for the audience to try. All the speakers were excellent and kept the audience engaged throughout the event.
