Fall 2024 Week 10: WICS x The HUB: AWS Certification Workshop

On Monday December 2, 2024, WICS collabed with The Hub to host an informational meeting about how to kickstart your journey to get AWS (Amazon Web Services) certified. We first started with hearing from a Solutions Architect at AWS, Trinity Key. She shared her story as a first year student at the University of Pittsburgh, to joining a lab at UCI, to her current position at AWS. She shared some key insights like finding a mentor and joining in current industry trends. Afterwards, AWS ambassadors from The HUB, Maithy and Tyler, gave a presentation on AWS certifications and resources to prepare for the certification exam. Finally, the table groups played a fun game of Jeopardy with topics of AWS, cloud computing, and etc. Overall, it was a fun night of getting to learn more about AWS and how to get certified.
