General Meetings
WICS General Meetings are open to all UCI students and are a great way to connect, learn, and get involved. We meet every Monday from 6:30–8:00 PM in DBH 6011, hosting a mix of social, professional, and technical events. Just show up and you’re automatically part of the WICS community!
Mentorship Program
This program pairs underclassmen with experienced upperclassmen mentors who offer guidance on academics, career paths, and navigating life in tech. Through a supportive “family” system, participants build meaningful connections, gain confidence, and grow together within the WICS community.

On Monday, May 4, 2026, WICS had a collaboration with Management Information Student Society (MAISS) at UCI. MAISS hosted a workshop for product ideation and pitching where members learned the basics of how to get an audience to take your pitch seriously in just 2 minutes. Groups curated a product and a pitch to a fun problem and pitched to the audience. We saw many creative solutions to problems like sleeping through alarms or getting your heels stepped on and were very captivated by the creativity of pitch delivery!

On Monday, April 27, 2026, WICS celebrated its 30th anniversary. Alumni, faculty, and current students came together to connect, creating a space where multiple generations could reflect on the organization’s growth and impact over the years. The celebration featured a Padlet filled with past memories, allowing attendees to look back on meaningful moments, as well as a networking session that encouraged conversations between members across different eras of WICS, sparking new connections, sharing inspiring stories, and celebrating the strong community that continues to shape WICS today.

On Monday, April 20, 2026, WICS teamed up with MECPS to host a tour of the Center for Resilient Autonomous Systems lab, featuring a humanoid robot and robotic dog. Attendees also attended a live drone demo with Professor Burke and learned about his specialized ECPS 295 drone course. The evening concluded with an info session on MECPS, UCI’s professional master’s program in embedded systems.

This Monday, April 13th, 2026, WICS had the pleasure of collaborating with Teach For America (TFA) to introduce opportunities for UCI students to help underserved children gain a fulfilling education. This presentation centered on the Ignite Fellowship and other roles that students can join within TFA, where they can directly tutor children around the country and make a real impact. Students also participated in a tutor and student scenario, acting out different learner types and figuring out how to effectively guide them through problems!
