Winter 2023 Week 7: WICS x General Atomics Women in Tech Panel

On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, WICS held an Informational Session & Women in Tech Panel with General Atomics Aeronautical System (GA). GA is a defense and diversified technologies company that is a world leader in creating Unmanned Aircraft Systems. These aircraft are remotely piloted and are useful for military, security, and environmental operations to ensure the safety of individuals in firefighting, search, and rescue operations. After learning more about their company, the software engineers of General Atomics discussed software development roles and the rewarding experiences in creating these aircraft. They answered various questions about preparing for their career and advised students who aspire to enter the same industry. They mentioned a summer internship opportunity that would require a 10-week commitment in San Diego that focuses on opportunities for professional development, mentorship, networking, and technical lectures.
