Spring 2026 Week 4: WICS Google Office Tour
On Friday, April 24, 2026, WICS members had the opportunity to visit Google for an exciting office tour and networking experience. Attendees explored the campus, learned more about Google’s work culture, and participated in a Q&A panel with Googlers from different roles and backgrounds. Members also enjoyed lunch at the famous Google cafe while gaining valuable insights into careers in tech, internships, and life at Google. Overall, the tour was a fun and memorable experience for everyone who attended!

Spring 2026 Week 4: MECPS x WICS Lab Tour
On Monday, April 20, 2026, WICS teamed up with MECPS to host a tour of the Center for Resilient Autonomous Systems lab, featuring a humanoid robot and robotic dog. Attendees also attended a live drone demo with Professor Burke and learned about his specialized ECPS 295 drone course. The evening concluded with an info session on MECPS, UCI’s professional master’s program in embedded systems.

Spring 2026 Week 3: WICS x Teach For America
This Monday, April 13th, 2026, WICS had the pleasure of collaborating with Teach For America (TFA) to introduce opportunities for UCI students to help underserved children gain a fulfilling education. This presentation centered on the Ignite Fellowship and other roles that students can join within TFA, where they can directly tutor children around the country and make a real impact. Students also participated in a tutor and student scenario, acting out different learner types and figuring out how to effectively guide them through problems!

Spring 2026 Week 2: WICS x CBC
On Monday, April 6th, 2026 WICS hosted an event with the Claude Builder Club, where students could learn more about Claude capabilities and build their own projects. The workshop included a demo of setting up Claude, using some of it's core features and the different modes and workflows. Students then worked in groups to build their own interactive projects, practicing these tools and learning more about the capabilities of AI in project building. To finish off the night, students were able to explore the different projects in a science-fair style show and tell.

Spring 2026 Week 1: Presentation Roulette
On March 31, 2026, during Week 1, WICS hosted a Presentation Roulette. WICS members were tasked with making a slideshow presentation of any topic but were given twists that they had to include within their presentation. Then each group had a random group presentation that was assigned to them to present. It was a great way to settle back into WICS and campus after spring break!
