Job Description

You will have the opportunity to participate in real-world projects, which provides valuable work experience and leadership skills.

All internships are paid and do not require academic credit.

Qualifications

To participate in Fox’s Internship program you must meet the following criteria:

•Be a currently enrolled student working towards an Associates, Bachelors, Masters or Juris Doctor degree at an accredited college or university. Recent graduates are not eligible for this program.
•Rising Juniors or above. Students finishing their first year of school as of June 2014 are not eligible for the summer 2014 program.
•Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
Must be able to work on-site in Los Angeles, California from June 2, 2014 until August 22, 2014.
•All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
•Previous work experience in an office environment preferred.
•Previous internship experience preferred.

Program Length:

•The approximate dates of these internships are June 2, 2014 through August 22, 2014.
•Interns must be available to work 20 hours per week for the duration of the internship.

Intern – Summer 2014 – Information Technology

• Junior computer science student with experience developing code (classwork assignments) and working with relational databases (a course in database management systems).

•JavaScript is a plus but not required.

•Experience with web technology such as HTML a plus but not required.

 

Intern – Summer 2014 Undergraduate – Post Production, Technology/Engineering (Fox Digital Entertainment – Los Angeles, CA)

Assists in the supports of Lab infrastructure, related to Post Production Technologies and Media Processing Pipeline Technologies.

Provides assistance and support for various projects including the evaluation of existing and new technologies. Tasks shall include running test scenarios, evaluating results and creating reports based on the process.

Provides production related assistance for the creation of several test clips and content to be used for test and evaluation.

Compiles data based on the process of generating content from Camera to Distribution.

Lab consists of Production and Distribution Technologies including

Camera, Production related hardware and Software (Editing, Lighting, Audio, Color Processing, Master Formats, Dailies, Playback, Metadata Capture) as well as Distribution Technologies (Ingest of Master Content, Input File Evaluation, Playback/QC, Metadata Creation, QC and File analysis, Transcoding, and analytical tools)

Technology Lab Support

•Test and validates in a structured test environment both new and existing technologies, Runs structured test cycles and creates reports based on those test results

•Assists in the maintenance of the lab environments, including Storage, Network, Server Environment and Application Support. Including software updates, documentation, and evaluation of new lab technologies

•Provides assistance to the Manager and Directors of Technology as needed

Production Support

•Assists in Camera evaluations, including capturing of content, editing and color processing.

•Assists in various editing tasks using common editing software applications File Distribution and Workflow Pipeline Support

•Assists in the evaluation of files prior to ingest and formation of file to the output deliverable

•Includes work on various transcoders, file analysis tools, visual QC and playback. Editing software, and generates bug reports where issues are encountered.

Project Support

•Works closely with Engineering team to execute test routines

•Assists in the evaluation of technical solutions, architecture design and implementation time line in support of production application requirements.

•Provides support in creation of documents, and light office duties

Administrative

•Communicates plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis.

•Adheres to department standards, policies, procedures and industry best practices.

 

Graduate  Intern – Summer 2014 – Program Management – Information Technology

Siebel application team is part of the world-wide Home Entertainment IT group. The team supports a sales-planning system used in home entertainment releases which touches all areas of the organizations including Marketing, Finance, Operations and Sales.

Intern to act in a role similar to a Business Analyst, but with the support and oversight of a program manager.

Purpose of the internship will be to expose the student to the role that IT plays in the entertainment industry.

Provide opportunities for the intern to gain valuable professional experiences by working with the Siebel application team on a range of projects.

Facilitate intern’s interaction with other areas of home entertainment and building critical professional relationships.

Intern will participate in a range of projects including:

Support and test phase of the Japan & Australia Financial Planning Project.

Testing phase of the Digital Forecasting project.

Design & Requirements phase of the Ultimate’s project.

Qualifications

•Knowledge of IT structured analysis methodologies, including process flow definition and data flow diagramming.

•Experience with user interface design, wireframing and screen mockups.

•Knowledge of Project and Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies. iv. Experience with the Siebel packaged software solution.

•Management Consulting or Information Systems background.

•Skills (would be a plus if candidate had):

•Strong analytical skills.

•Strong written and oral communication skills.

•Working understanding of Visio, Powerpoint, Word and/or user interface software.
